Turn your home into a luxurious space and give it a distinct ambience with specialised glass solutions.

Luxury and Glass Go Hand-in-Hand

For both exterior and interior architectural needs, glass solutions can be specialised. These days, you see the results of innovative designers and architects everywhere – be it restaurants, offices, malls, even bus stands! We are past the times of limiting Glass to home office decor.Interior design for contemporary and modern homes is constantly evolving, with newer styles emerging, concentrating around Glass.

In fact, so many design pieces traditionally made of wood and stone are now being replaced by Glass, thanks to innovative and robust manufacturing process.

Glass as a versatile material is coming to the forefront of architects and design specialists alike. No more is Glass only for windows, screen doors and tables. The time has come for innovation in function and aesthetic appeal – frosted, laminated, tempered and much more!

How To Use Glass in Homes and Offices

Here is why you should not shy away from Glass dominating the aesthetics of your spaces.

A dash of luxury

Glass is the ultimate luxury material. When you use it in doors, windows, and partitions, Glass adds a sense of luxury to your spaces. Depending on how and where you’re using it, this can range from a hint to a boundless blend of modernity and luxury. Use different kinds of Glass – frosted, laminated, back painted, tempered – depending on your needs in a particular space. The world of customised glass solutions is a fascinating world waiting to be explored.

For instance, when you use frosted Glass for your bathroom’s wash basin, it will immediately stand out to anyone entering the space. Patterned Glass for a bookcase in a living room will brighten up the ambience and add a touch of posh. Use creative glass solutions for everyday functional pieces to give your space a distinctly sophisticated touch.

Complete privacy

Privacy needs usually arise in interior space designs, and Glass offers a unique solution. Using Glass to determine privacy ensures an atmosphere which is not obstructive in its secureness, yet is sufficiently safe and contained. Glass has a way of establishing boundaries without being too stuffy.

Frosted Glass is often the desired way to go for all privacy requirements. It can be produced by either sandblasting or acid etching on clear sheet glass. Since it is translucent in nature, it gives you a privacy solution that fits right for both functional and aesthetic needs – it allows for light to be let in while obscuring the view just enough. Further modifications, in terms of design, is also possible with frosted Glass.

Spacious rooms

Clever use of Glass can ensure that a smaller space be designed in such a way that it gives the illusion of largeness. Using Glass for sliding screen doors can create an illusion of an open space layout, effectively removing physical constraints by relaxing visual restrictions. Using Glass in key spaces like the kitchen can pave the way for a more open space. Intelligent and creative use of Glass in design solutions can essentially do the impossible – spaces that look limited and small can magically become large and airy!

Eco-friendly solutions

Technology has made it possible that materials like solar control glass be developed and become key competitors in thermal control solutions. With its low-emittance (low-E) coating, solar control glass blocks radiant heat transfer. Different climates translate into different energy needs, and this kind of Glass allows for customizability. Using certain solar control glasses also allows for energy efficient designs, a theme that might resonate with sustainability enthusiasts.

How Glass Makes Your Home Energy Efficient

Modern architecture is adopting eco-friendly techniques to ensure a healthy living environment. Today home designs include planning of home orientation, landscaping, façade design and usage of energy efficient glass windows and doors. This makes your home the first place that will contribute towards reducing carbon footprints for a safer environment.
Let’s have a look at how you can make use of glass in a constructive design manner to create an energy efficient space:

Reduces Heat Ingress

Heat Reflective or Solar control glass greatly reduces the sun’s heat from coming into a room. this reduction of amount of heat that comes from sunlight helps to decreases the air conditioning load; thus bringing down energy consumption.
Places with extreme climatic conditions experience drastic temperature differences and passive cooling/heating is the only way to ensure efficient energy consumption and reduced electricity bills. This is where these energy efficient glasses come into play.

Boost Natural Light

There is a never-ending debate over white or yellow lights for home interiors. Amidst all this, it is certain that natural light is the best possible way to light up your home. Apart from having thermal properties, glass is an excellent source of letting in natural sun light. If designed properly one can incorporate solar control glass for passive lighting at home along with avoiding harmful UV rays of the sun. Not only will this boost productivity and good health but also reduce electricity consumption.

Tips and tricks to maintain your windshield glass during monsoons

Introduction:
Driving during the monsoons can be a challenging task. Your view is constantly blocked by the rains and to make things worse, the dirt kicked off from other cars very easily settles on your windshield. Such situations are likely to block your view while driving that can be dangerous for the driver and the passengers within.

How Are We Going to Driving in year 2020? Futuristic cars

Unless you’re an entrenched walker or a regular customer for public transport, you probably spend more time in your car than anywhere except your sweet home and workplace.
Driving can sometimes can be an ordeal and is not always pleasant. Hours stuck in a traffic jam, futile search for a parking space or negligent fellow drivers can antagonize any driver.

But things are going to get better. A chain of innovative ideas, from various car makers and automotive-tech companies, is going to turn around the way we drive and revolutionize the way we know cars. Cutting edge engineering solutions and on-board computers, our cars are becoming smarter, safer and more fun to drive.
Cars capable of driving themselves are just round the corner. Technologies in near future will help cars to park themselves and to avoid collisions to will even talk to each other! Tomorrow’s cars will be studded with long-range headlights and will see extensive use of hydrogen fuel that not only keeps the air clean but also emits water, which might replace traditional petrol and diesel too.

How about a windshield that is also your dashboard? Wouldn’t it be cool if you could view your navigation information sharp and clear on your windshield itself? Here is ‘Head-up Display for Windshields’. The dashboard information is projected right on the windshield through an in-built projector in the car’s console. The glass is built with a wedge shaped PVB film that is thin towards the bottom and thick on the top. This provides better clarity and avoids a blurred image that usually occurs in a standard windshield.
Key Benefits:

  • Provides better display clarity than standard PVB.
  • Allows the driver to stay focused on the road at the same time check their dashboard information (speed, fuel, navigation, etc.)
  • Improves driver comfort and enhances safety.

To make car travel much more eventful, a leading car manufacturer is providing 4G internet access embedded, so you can surf and stream without buffering. Another car manufacturer is deploying compressed air power to turn its axle.  A hydraulic pump/motor unit stores air generated by the engine, braking, and deceleration in a compressed air energy storage unit. This will increase the efficiency of the engine by combing this compressed air with gasoline to produce more power. Furthermore, we have internet surge radio and much awaited self-driving or driver-less car which will totally wipe out road accident and leave passenger in car with nothing to do other than just sit, enjoy and chill.
When we talk about the future of cars, it’s not just about the technologies incorporated to make our driving experience delightful and safer, but also how are those cars going to look like. For past decades, cars have not only revolutionized in their functionality but also in their looks and edges. And when it comes to making a car look more aesthetic, things that jump out of our mind are more curves and edges, more streamlines and glassy exteriors, after all people like thing that are transparent.
Glass should not be limited to just windshields, windows and mirrors, it has much more potential. For say, a American car manufacturer recently displayed a concept car fully made out of glass, and not only it looked glamorous but also didn’t compromise with efficiency of performance. Further, we think it’s time to move on from same old tin roof. How about moon light in your car instead of mood light, how about stars peeping through when you drive at night and sparkling sunshine during daytime. This all can be accomplished by shifting to glass roof instead of existing ones that we have presently.
All in all, when we look at the future of cars, not only it is bright, but also it is transparent, because it has glass.

How to Bolster Your Office’s Passive Fire Protection Systems with Glass

Everyone is well versed with the destructive powers of a fire breakout. Not only does such a hazard threaten the life of the occupants of an office building but also poses a significant risk to the property, equipment and the documents inside. This is the very reason why architects and designers provide for the adequate safety of the building and its occupants in the event of a fire by installing fire-proof architectural solutions as per the norms.

Glass the Key to Passive Fire Protection in Offices
Such key solutions form a part of any office building’s Passive Fire Protection (PFP) systems which prevent the spread of fire by creating barriers to its passage for a limited time, enabling occupants to move to a safe environment. PFP is an essential fire safety strategy for any building. If proper planning, installation, and maintenance are implemented, passive fire protection can save lives and the building itself. While PFP may not provide a complete fire safety solution, when combined with AFP (or Active Fire Protection systems), they can make a big difference in case of an emergency.
With glass being one of the most major elements in all office space constructions, opting for multifunctional, specialized glass solutions for safe, secure and comfortable living and working is paramount. Thus, glass forms a key component of an office’s Passive Fire Protection Systems. This is where office building owners can safeguard their investment, employees and business by opting for fire-resistant glass solutions tested and approved according to Indian and international standards such as AIS Pyrobel.
AIS Pyrobel blends light, transparency and fire-protection for all building applications, framing types, and fire-resistance classes and durations. Office building owners can choose from any of the three variants:

  • Class E: Prevents flames, smoke, and hot gases from passing through. The fire remains contained.
  • Class EW: Integrity and Low Heat Radiation or the ability of the element to prevent the passage of flames and to limit the level of heat transfer through the element.
  • Class EI: Integrity and Insulation or the ability of the element to prevent the passage of flames and to block heat transfer through the element.

All in all, with the help of AIS Pyrobel, offices can:

  • Remain protected against fire, heat, and smoke for extended periods
  • Remain protected against radiation and conductive heat transfer
  • Install fire-resistance glass in all framing systems – wood, steel or aluminium or even frameless

Where to Use Fire-Proof Glass in Offices

  • Partitions
  • Fully glazed fire doors
  • Façades and windows to prevent the fire from transmitting inside-out or outside-in
  • Floors
  • Data Storage and Server Room enclosures to preserve electronic data
  • Stair enclosures or doors with in-built vision panels which provide the most vital access points and exit routes
  • Lift doors and enclosures

The secret to keeping your office space safe and fire-proof, therefore, lies in investing in one of the most advanced glass solutions manufactured by AIS, the leading glass company in India. Do take note that it is imperative to install the fire-resistant glass only in systems that comply with safety regulations.

The Green Revolution

The world is moving towards a greener, more eco-friendly way of living. It is therefore only natural that the space where people live and work also reflects this green evolution. The way we build has changed, and glass has made this transformation possible. For decades, architects and builders around the world have explored ways of designing the ‘nearly-Zero Energy’ building. Today, modern technology and innovative building materials has made that dream a reality. Builders are offering customers the opportunity to explore a life that’s smart, efficient, and above all, sustainable.
Green standards – IGBC and GRIHA
In India, ‘green buildings’ are rated as per two independent rating systems:

  • The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) rating system, derived from the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) norms developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.
  • The Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA), developed by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), rates buildings on a comprehensive scale of 34 criteria under various sections. In about a decade, India has emerged as a leading country in the adoption of Green Building norms

NBC and ECBC codes
Apart from the above, the Government of India is also enabling environmental conservation through its building codes. The National Building Code (NBC), developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), was introduced in 1970. After three amendments, it provides guidelines for regulating construction activities across the country today. For using glass in buildings, NBC has issued revised norms that are broadly classified under the sections:

  • General requirement
  • Determination of appropriate thickness
  • Criteria of human impact safety
  • Installation
  • Fire safety
  • Energy & Thermal property

The Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC), created by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and introduced in 2007, offers three distinct compliance approaches: Prescriptive (Component-based): Each system and sub-system should comply with minimal performance requirements. Trade-off (System-based): Permitted only between building envelope components – roofs, walls, fenestration, overhangs, etc. Whole Building Performance: Evaluation is based on a computer model of the proposed design and comparing it to a standard design, with various factors taken into account.
Building green with glass
The extensive use of innovative glass products in today’s buildings has helped reduce the need for artificial lighting and thereby minimised energy consumption. Green buildings cost more to build but have substantially reduced operational costs, compared to conventional buildings. Various types of glazing solutions – internal as well as external – have made spaces more efficient while unlocking new possibilities in design and aesthetics.
Green solutions from Asahi India Glass Limited As India’s leading integrated glass company, AIS has been at the forefront of moving towards an ecofriendly future. It has pioneered innovations in glass processing technology to develop both single-glazed and double-glazed products with the best ‘green’ parameters. This is giving developers and their architects greater choice and the ability to explore possibilities. These solutions enhance the aesthetics, efficiency and economics of commercial and residential spaces, compared to traditional building materials.

The future is green
According to IGBC, of 2761 buildings registered with it in India, 516 are certified as green. By 2022, it aims to register 10 billion sq. ft. of green building projects. The idea of green buildings has now gained momentum, with greater use of green materials like glass. The environmental impact of increased construction activity has been on the agenda of Government entities and the Environment Ministry. Building code changes are in the pipeline. Construction houses are striving to obtain sustainability certifications, to ensure a better quality of life and to help conserve the environment. Living in harmony with nature is the surest way of ensuring a sustainable future for the planet. ‘Green buildings’ are helping us achieve that ideal.

5 Reasons To Pick Toughened Glass For Your Home

Home décor and furnishing trends have come a long way. From wood to metals and now glass, there are stylish designs options that can instantly beautify your interiors. Nowadays, usage of glass has become very popular among home owners as it not only adds beauty and grace to the décor, but also increases the functionality of the space. However, if quality glass material is not used, it can be a serious safety hazard. It is therefore important for homeowners to invest in quality glass which is breakage and injury free. Toughened glass, also known as tempered glass, is the perfect solution to all your worries. Listed below are the top reasons why you should go for it over other glass materials:
1.Glass was always looked up as a fragile material. However, with modern advancements in technology, today it is one of the strongest materials. Toughened glass is five times stronger than regular glass, and thus can bear load without breakage. This safety and resilient quality of toughened glass makes it a perfect fit for homes, especially those with young children.

2.Toughened glass is manufactured by exposing regular glass to extreme heat. The glass is then cooled rapidly. The quick heating and cooling process changes the chemical composition of the glass, making it more resilient.
3.Another benefit of using toughened glass over other types of glasses is that in a situation of severe impact, which may cause it to break, the glass does not shatter into spikes/shards. Rather, it crumbles into very small, blunt pebbles. This significantly reduces chances of any injury. Annealed glass, on the other hand, breaks into long, sharp spikes and can cause serious injury.
4.The impact resilience of toughened glass makes it a safer option to invest in. It adds a sense of security to the place. Moreover, doors and windows fixed with toughened glass can be adapted to provide sound proof solution, which makes it a perfect choice for every area/neighbourhood.
5.Another benefit of choosing this material is that it is very flexible and versatile, allowing you to customize it as per your choice and requirements. Toughened glass is available in variety of styles, which makes it a perfect choice for modern interior settings. One can choose from a myriad of options available or can also get it customized for a unique and personal touch. Nowadays, toughened glass with frosted appearance has become very popular as it allows privacy and also enhances the aesthetics of the space.

AIS for Road Safety and Pollution Prevention.

Following road safety rules while driving in India can make driving less stressed out. But often people break rules just to reach their destination quickly. Putting their lives at risk, people indulge in rash driving that sometimes lead to accidents. Besides glass, there are numerous other things that can be done to reduce the car traffic and pollution issues. Some of the rules are listed below:
Educate your loved ones:
Making your children and your loved ones aware of road safety can bring about a great impact to their lives. Make sure you let them know about rules of crossing the road, traffic signs and so on.
Drive/ride at economical pace:
Driving or riding the vehicle at a constant speed will increase the overall fuel efficiency by at least 30%. This can be done by maintaining a steady pace in your driving style. By doing so, one can reduce the amount of greenhouse gases and other pollutants. Make sure to also service the car regularly to keep the engine tuned.

Avoid peak hours:
Peak hours are the worst time to commute as the street is crowded with people heading to work, school and other venues. Often people are stuck in heavy traffic. This causes stress and doubles the travelling time to your destination. To cut down on this issue, one needs to schedule errands and travel to avoid peak hours. This helps to save time and get the task done as well.
 Follow traffic rules:
Following traffic rules ensures road safety and smooth flow of the traffic system. Traffic rules also ensure that one does not have to deal with speeding tickets, or any other fines given by traffic officials.  These rules also apply to pedestrians who are looking to cross the road without any risk.

Carpooling/Public transport:
For some people, avoiding peak-hour traffic might not be possible. During such times, carpooling or using public transport can be the smarter choice. It can help contribute to less traffic, prevent you from getting stressed and can save a lot of money. In a country like India, one also worries about parking in major cities like Mumbai and Delhi! This will be less of an issue with carpooling.

Those people who are looking for a healthier way to commute can opt to walk or cycle their way to work. In case the destination is closer, bicycling or walking can be a good decision. So, stay safe on the road and help the environment by reducing your carbon footprint!
We at AIS have been offering automotive glass for over 30 years. AIS Auto Glass is seen in India’s best vehicles, commanding a market share of over 70% offering high-quality automotive glasses for the best in safety, comfort & style.

Essential Guide to Cleaning your Windshield

Cleaning a car windshield without the right knowledge can be a challenging job. Using the wrong equipment and method can cause a lot of scratches on your windshield. Here is windshield cleaning guide that we feel can be used to clean different types of glass windshields. Having a clean, dirt and grease-free windshield can offer a safer ride, especially in poor weather conditions.  Without making use of an expensive cleanser, it is possible to get rid of bird droppings, dirt, tree sap and other interference.
Take a look at a detailed guide that can be useful to achieve a spotless and sparkling windshield.

Choosing the ideal cleaning solution:
With numerous cleaning solutions on the market, choosing the ideal one can be a daunting task. Besides, the variety of ammonia-based, auto glass cleaners, all-purpose cleaners has catalysed the confusion by several folds.  As a result, people simply pick any solution for window glass types without thinking. I was one of them too, but after several trial and error, I realised that ammonia is harmful and so are the household cleaning solutions.  Hence, make sure you use a cleaner intended for automotive glass that can give the best results.  Such solutions offer a clean streak free windshield that is free from any obstructions.
Choosing other material:
Make sure you use a microfiber cloth to clean the windshield with the ideal cleaning solution. The cloth is made from the tiny wedge-shaped fibres that are 100 times finer than a human hair. As a result, cleaning any kind of dirt can be done easily. Besides, they are also long lasting and can be reused several times to clean different types of glass windshield.
Right way to clean any windshield:
Choosing the right kind of cleaning solution and microfiber cloth is not the end. Implying the right technique is equally important when it comes to cleaning any window glass types. Start of by cleaning the glass with water. Only then make use of the cleaning solution. Scrub water off the windshield in straight lines. Invest in a soft brush and use horizontal and vertical motion without scrubbing too hard. This is done only to loosen the grime.
Glass cleaning solution:
Spray the cleaning solution on the microfiber cloth and begin cleaning. Make sure you work from one side to another to get the best result. After the first clean, the residue is likely to remain. Repeat the procedure until you get it right. Once done, let the glass dry naturally.
By following the above-mentioned guides, you are certain to get a clean windshield.

How are laminated windshields better?

With 50,000 cars on our roads, safety plays a crucial role. Accidents have been on the rise due to the tremendous increase in the number of vehicles on the road. The rise in accidents led to new developments in safety, particularly in windshields. Laminated glass is a safety glass that doesn’t shatter after an impact, no matter how big or small. It is supposed to be one the most strongest and sturdy types of glass used in the fields of automobiles, architecture and places that need high security like jewellery stores, banks etc.

Unlike normal glass, laminated glass is made by sandwiching a glass sheet between two or more portions of glass. This sheet is known as poly vinyl butyral (PVB), which helps keep the glass from breaking.

Casualties in accidents were on a steep rise due to windshields not being strong and sturdy. Often, due to the impact of the crash, drivers would get seriously injured as the windshield would shatter since it couldn’t withstand the impact. It is then when manufacturers realized the need for astronger and more durable glass that could stand tough in such situations. And thus, in 1919 they made a glass that was strong enough to take the brute force of such impacts. Even after breaking and being punctured, the laminated glass will stay together because of the chemical PVB. Laminated glass was first used in 1927 in automobiles as a windshield.

Usually, the side and rear windows are made of tempered glass, so they shatter into small pieces after breaking. As the tempered glass breaks into small particles, it is less harmful than breaking into sharp pieces. Thus, windshields are made of laminated glass to protect the driver and the co-driver’s. The laminated glass in the car has two main functions. Firstly, it helps the co driver’s air bag to open up properly. The air bag at the driver’s side usually pops up to the drivers face. But when the passenger’s airbag opens up, it bounces off the windshield and then lands in the required position to safeguard the passenger. The second function it provides is that the driver is saved from deep cuts that would have been caused by the breaking of the windshield on impact. Often while driving, there are many objects like stone, metal etc. that hit the vehicle out of nowhere. Hence this glass very well plays its role in avoiding accidents regarding the same.

So, to conclude, laminated glass may just look like any other ordinary glass, but it really has some extraordinary features.

How Can You Tackle Air Pollution with Glass?

You would believe that winters in India are welcomed with much celebration as they bring respite from the harsh summer heat. Yet, come November, and suddenly the picture doesn’t look so rosy anymore. Cue the menace of air pollution.
Over the last few years, air pollution levels in urban centres of the country have risen steadily and have now reached alarming levels. This issue is made all the more prominent in the cold weather as fog mixes with the pollutants to give rise to smog – an extremely unhealthy air that we have now become accustomed to breathing.

So, amidst it all, how can glass technology help?
Since one spends the maximum amount of time in a day indoors, either at home or an office, the solution to air pollution lies in staying as far away from it as possible. Such a solution is possible in the realm of architecture wherein our windows and other outlets in the building a sealed and secure enough to prevent any leakage of the polluted air inside. Therefore, all you need is a sophisticated glass window system that will keep you and your loved ones safe from the smog.
Stay safe indoors with Anti-Pollution Windows
Yes, you heard that right. As a leading glass company in India, AIS has always believed in the power of innovation to solve some of the most concerning architectural issues for customers and businesses, be it at homes or offices. With the same spirit of innovation in mind, our experts have created special Anti-Pollution and Anti-Smog Windows retailed by Glasxperts that promise to save you and your loved ones from the damaging effects of air pollution.
The idea, as you might have guessed, revolves around completely sealing air leakages and spaces inside so as to prevent the external environment from leaking inside homes and offices. How is this done? Let’s have a look:

  • Fusion-welded windows with a multi-lock system

High-quality gaskets and joints strongly seal the windows along with exceptional fusion welded joints. Such physical constructs in the specialized window system make it almost impossible for pollutants to enter inside and wreak havoc. Moreover, you can make sure that these windows close extremely tightly with the help of the advanced multipoint locking system in place.

  • Silicon to shut off gaps

A popular material used in various industries, silicon proves its merit in the anti-pollution window in the form of a special sealant that shits down any gaps – both in the window and the adjacent wall.

  • Double glazing in unit glasses

Moving on to the glass, you can rest assured of multi-chambered profiles and multiple layers that make it incredibly difficult for any minute percentage of outside air that has leaked inside to reach beyond the glazing. This advanced technique of providing completely sealed Double Glazing Units also enables the windows to prevent heat and sound to leak inside.

  • The ease of retrofitting

Finally, you might be thinking what a cumbersome and expensive task it would be to remove your existing windows and replace them with special anti-pollution ones. Well, these windows by AIS can be easily retrofitted on any window surface, thus freeing you of all the hassle. Retrofitting essentially means fitting a new window surface on top of the existing one, thus improving the efficiency of the entire system!

Make Your Retail Store More Secure With These 2 Window Glass Types

In the present scenario, where competition is cut-throat, brands often find themselves in a rat-race to make their presence felt. This they can very well achieve by making their outlets aesthetically appealing. But with aesthetics, security too plays an important role.

Sometimes a pane of glass is the only thing standing between a burglar and your valuable inventory. Upgrading the security of your store is very much achievable by adding security features to your glass. Owing to the new construction techniques and value additions, glass today isn’t fragile. It has many advanced features to ensure strength, durability and sturdiness to fulfill safety requisites in retail outlets.

  • High- Grade Tempered Glass-

Tempered glasses are always stronger and safer. Hence, they are less resistant to breakage. Although, like clear glasses, they are also scratch resistant and can withstand normal wear and tear. But the major difference lies when they are subject to force. While a regular clear glass shatters in such a scenario, tempered glass is extremely tough and impact resistant. Even when the tempered glass does break down, it does so in the form of granules, thus reducing chances of injury inside your store. Therefore, they make for a great option to secure your displays and cabinets.

  • Laminated Glasses-

When we talk about burglary, laminated glass is always the first choice. The three layered structure of laminated glasses (the middle layer being usually a polyvinyl butyral interlayer which acts like a glue) makes them strong enough to resist penetration and gives you the ability to see more without compromising on the safety factor. Owing to its strength and other safety features, laminated glass is used in a number of applications, most typically for your storefront, facades and windows. High-grade laminated glass typically offers:

  • Protection against broken glass or forced entry
  • Bullet resistance

When used in the retail sector, breaking into the building with laminated glass isn’t that easy, usually involving a lot of efforts, a lot of time and a lot of noise. Hence, the use of laminated glass as a security feature has increased over the past few years. It also offers noise protection in noisy areas and areas involving a lot of traffic. In case of breakage, laminated glass tends to remain in its frame and hence minimizes the risk of injury. This is because of the interlayer which is made up of polyvinyl butyral ( PVB) or ethylene-vinyl acetate(EVA) that holds the pane in place. The chances of attracting the customers to your store increases significantly when you have security glasses to enhance the safety of your retail outlet.
Hence, out of all the window glass types, tempered and laminated are the ones that can enhance the safety feature of your retail outlet
