AIS Stronglas - Tempered Glass

Tempered Glass

Tempered glass is one of the most popular and useful glass types that serves primarily as a strong safety glass in architectural applications. This type of glass is heated to more than 600 °C and then quickly cooled. If broken, it shatters into many small blunt pieces. Tempered glass retains the light transmission and energy properties of the base product. Once toughened, it can no longer be cut or shaped.

In many regions across the world, tempered glass is also known as toughened glass. These are only interchangeable terms and not different types of glass. The more modern way of spelling toughened glass is tuffen glass.

The main difference between tempered or toughened glass and ordinary annealed glass is that while the latter breaks into dangerous shards instantaneously upon impact, the former disintegrates after much impact resistance into pebble-shaped, harmless pieces. This unique property is due to opposing stresses developed on the two sides of tempered or toughened glass, and makes it a great safety glass option.

As for the cost, you can get the right toughened glass price for your project only with AIS Glass.
