AIS Securityglas™ provides level 2 and level 3 protection against burglar attacks and is used extensively in residential and commercial applications worldwide.

It is therefore important to determine the protection we are interested in. There are many types of security: earth quakes resistant, bullet resistant, bomb blast resistant, fire resistant etc. Various combinations and types of interlayer and glass produce different effects. Several layers of glass and vinyl (PVB) combined together offer greater protection. The thickness of the glass determines the security of the laminated unit. In case of breakage this glass creates a soft web like structure and glass fragments sticks to PVB interlayer and there is a very very low chance of injury. This helps in protection as it eliminates injury due to fragments, eliminates risk of people falling and on breakage the glass facade will remain intact till replacement.

For Example, in case of natural calamities laminated glass uses a particular combination of glasses and interlayer to absorb high-powered force without shattering or being penetrated. Obviously, a multi-layer combination will be used. On the other hand, to prevent forced entry it is usually enough to use annealed and heat-strengthened glass with an interlayer. Fire protection glass is a multi-layered product that literally burns away layer by layer, thus breaking the progress of the fire. All of these products are rated by levels and are tested for specific performance criteria.

Depending upon the glass type, and exact sizes, street price of the AIS Securityglas™ ranges between Rs 375-400 per sq. ft. Bullet resistant AIS Securityglas™ is only made on special order.
